Searching for a Policy

  1. When searching for a customer, prior to searching, confirm that the correct state is selected (state the policy was written for) in the top-right corner of the Home page. 
  2. On the left side of the Home page, locate the Customer Lookup section. Enter the customer’s information, then click Search. 
  3. The search results will appear, click on the name hyperlink to access the customer account.  
  4. Then click Policies and then the policy number of the policy to be serviced. 

Locate the Named Insured Information

  1. To access the policy, once the policy has been accessed as shown above, the Contact Info section on the Summary screen will have all the Named Insured information. 

Locate the Effective Dates

  1. Upon entering the policy, this will be at the top of the Policy Servicing Tool.

Locating Policy Documents

  1. Within the Policy Servicing Tool, proceed to Links.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Policy Forms.
  3. A new window will populate, click on the document to be viewed.
  4. Then click Select.
  5. Click on the file name under PDF Document to view/print the PDF.

View Coverage and Deductibles

  1. Within the Policy Servicing Tool, click on Policy Info.
  2. Then click on Coverages.
  3. The coverages with limits will be listed out and the deductibles will be listed above the coverages. 

Locate the Mortgagee Clause

  1. Within the Policy Servicing Tool, click on Policy Info.
  2. Then click on Interests. 
  3. Process an Endorsement
  4. In the Policy Servicing Center, click on Links. 
  5. Select Policy Change.
  6. From the Home Policy Change Menu, select the effective date of the change, enter the agent number and select the changes to be made. 
  7. Then click Continue. 
  8. Proceed to make change (adjust coverages, limits, additional coverages, etc.) in this example, we will add Refrigerated Products coverage.
  9. Proceed to enter any remarks, then click Continue. 
  10. The impact on the premium along with the effective date will be listed. 
  11. To complete the transaction, click either Process Real-Time or Process Overnight. 
  12. Otherwise, click Save or Delete if the customer doesn’t want to proceed with the quote. 

Processing Cancellations

  1. From the Policy Servicing Tool, click on Links.
  2. Then from the drop-down menu, click on Cancel Policy. 
  3. Enter then Cancel Date.
  4. Then enter the reason for the cancellation.
  5. Then click Submit. 

Cancellation Information:

  • Mailing address changes must be made prior to processing cancellation.
  • Any pending endorsements will need to be cleared prior to canceling the policy.
  • Cancel effective date MUST be after the loss date of any claim.
  • Policy cancellation request cannot be backdated over a lapse in coverage (last reinstatement date).
  • If the policy cancel request is backdated more than one year, please complete a Service Request Form to cancel.
  • Safeco does not require copies of agency processed cancellation requests.
