Upon logging in, you will be greeted with the option to select a Producer, select an option from the drop-down.
Then click Continue.
Select Start New Quote to begin a new business quote.
The General Quoter will appear and open the New Quote tab.
The following fields will need to be selected to continue:
Quote State
Policy Type
Type
Effective Date
Number of Drivers to be insured
Number of Vehicles to be insured
Zip code where the vehicles are primary garaged
Have you had liability insurance coverage in the last 5 years?
During this step, it is necessary to provide the best/most accurate response regarding any previous coverage. Once a response has been chosen you will not be allowed to change it throughout the quoting process and transfers discount proofs may be requested if a response other than No was selected when the customer did not have any prior insurance. In other states, it may ask for military orders or other applicable/required documents if this was marked Yes in error.
If you believe you may have started a quote and marked Yes to previous coverage in error, please exit quote and simply begin a new quote to avoid any quoting/underwriting issues.

Then click Next to proceed.
The first section will focus on the Applicant Information/Garaging Address.
Primary Phone Number field is required, proceed to enter the customer’s phone number.
Enter the customer’s email address.
If the customer has a different mailing address, please ensure that you are changing the response from No to Yes as shown below. This will populate a Mailing Address field that you will be required to complete.
This second section focuses on Policy Information and Coverages. Proceed to select the desired coverages for the customer and answer any additional underwriting questions listed.

Effective Date: You may quote customers 30 days in advance. Although you may quote a customer for a future date, it is important to understand in the event of any product and/or rate changes your quote will not be guaranteed.
Policy Term: If applicable you may choose from a 6- or 12-month policy term.
Pay Plan: Don’t make any changes to the Pay Plan at this time as this may be impacted based on the risk and or other underwriting guidelines.
Roadside Ast: The General offers an optional 24/7 roadside assistance administered by Nation Safe Drivers (NSD). Coverage is extended to all vehicles on the policy and comprehensive/collision is not required.
If the customer agrees, select Yes to include additional coverage.
The applicant information will default to Driver 1.
Proceed to enter their date of birth, date licensed, if they have completed a Defensive driver course, rating status, gender, license status, marital status and state licensed.
Indicate if the customer requires a SR22.
NOTE: The General does not offer out-of-state filings.
Click Add Violation to add any violations for the customer.
To add another driver, click Add Driver.
Confirm the Household Driver questions, then proceed to the Vehicle Information section.
Enter the vehicle information, you can enter the VIN and click Get Vehicle to automatically populate the year make and model.
Select the vehicle-level coverages.
Indicate if the vehicle is used in business.
NOTE: The General accepts some business use. Please check the underwriting guidelines specific to the state for additional information. If applicable, underwriting questions specific to business use will need to be completed prior to binding coverage to verify eligibility.
Confirm the Vehicle Information questions.
Then click Get Quote.
In the Quote section a quote number will be assigned and an estimated price for your quote will be available.
NOTE: Important: Do not provide this rate to your customer. You are required to complete some consumer reports before providing a rate.
The Quote Summary will provide the terms and pay plans and from here you can make any adjustments to coverages and vehicle information.
You can also change the due date on this screen.
Once everything is confirmed, click Next.
If the customer agrees, you will proceed to run the first 3 reports: Address, Credit & Prior Insurance.
To initiate the reports, you may do so by clicking on the Order First Reports button.
Once you have successfully completed the first three required reports (Address, Credit & Prior Insurance) you may proceed with providing a quote to the customer.
This completes the quick quote process. If the customer agrees to the quote, you will need to gather additional information before completing the remaining reports to complete a sale.
While running the remainder of the consumer reports you will need to pay close attention to changes in the rate based on findings (MVR, CLUE, ADD’s, etc.) These will need to be disclosed to the customer before proceeding.
Once all reports are obtained, click Next.
The validation process will be the final step prior to processing a payment. Validating a quote ensures that all the information has been input properly and that edits (Soft Rating Messages or Hard Rating Messages) have been addressed prior to binding a policy.
Once all the previous steps leading up to the Validate tab have been completed simply click the Validate button.
Lastly, proceed to enter the payment information.
Then click Process Payment to issue the policy.
After payment has been accepted, you can print the Application, ID Cards, Monthly Payment Schedule and the Fax Cover sheet. In order to access these forms, click on the Printer icon.
An additional box will appear once the printer icon is clicked with all available forms. To print, click View Forms and print.
